A realtor Baden has done some work for offered to let us use her family's cabin for a weekend. The cabin is near a town called Willow. It is one of the last REAL towns on the highway to Fairbanks after leaving Wasilla/Anchorage areas. The cabin is pretty rustic. There is no running water, plumming, or road directly to the cabin. When we first arrived we hiked into it and then used the paddlle boat to ferry the rest of our stuff across the lake. There was electricity however, and surroundsound and a stereo and a heater in the outhouse:)

The first night we just explored the area and went fishing from the paddle boat. We ate s'mores and the boys ran around non-stop. I took pictures of them but they all turned out blurry.I couldn't get them to hold STILL!!!
The next moring we woke up bright and early and went for another ride in the paddle boat. The boys were tired but they loved it.

Lorna,Brian and Daphne came to spend the day with us. We hung out, played darts, and watched the boys swim in the freezing cold lake. They just kept begging to jump in so we finally let them. (I'll post a video later)

Later, we went for a hike with the boys and Daphne while Lorna and Brian cruised around the lake in the paddle boat. And we found blueberries! YUM!!

On the way home we happened to catch a fireworks display in the town of Houston. It was a fun way to end our little getaway!
